Corporate Executive Coaching

Add executive coaching to your talent development strategy

Your future leaders will need diverse work experiences, new and different assignments and challenges, skills training and education, mentoring and personal development to be ready to take the helm of your company. While these are all excellent paths to leadership development, there is a resource you can access that can help accelerate their leadership readiness. It’s call executive coaching.

“The greatest value I received from the coaching process and working with Kathy McAfee is that she was a catalyst for growth. Kathy is not afraid to delve deeply and address any and all issues that can otherwise keep someone from progressing, plus she has the tools to help communicate the information in a manner that is both acceptable and “digestible” making the change that much easier. If you are willing to do the work, Kathy is an excellent guide. I highly recommend Kathy’s services as an executive coach.” Pamela Miles, President, Pamela Miles LLC

Why you should invest in executive coaching

Often times the things that have helped you to be successful to date may be the very things that hold you back from the next level of achievement, as author Marshall Goldsmith stated so poignantly in his book “What Got You Here, Won’t Get You There.” These blind spots can move you out of your strengths and into troubled waters. It’s important to have resources inside and outside the organization to help you navigate your path more successfully.

Working with an outside executive coach will give you a significant advantage and aid you in maximizing your job performance, job satisfaction and ultimately your career advancement. All top performers, whether they are in sports, the arts or in business, can benefit from the guidance, support and perspective provided by an outside coach.

What we will work on together

You will experience in an executive coaching relationship with me what might be described as a hybrid between communication training, leadership coaching and executive motivation. I have a strong reputation for helping people get out of their own way and motivating them to action. (Please see my specific credentials below)

Our work together will be geared towards grooming you inside and out to increase your “executive presence” – simply put how others view you and your readiness to lead the organization. In addition to smoothing out any rough edges and polishing your style, I will teach you new ways in which you can project more of your talent, power and influence when your present yourself and your ideas to others, including to members of management, your boss and peers, and internal and external stakeholders.

The beauty of the executive coaching process is that it is fluid and flexible and we can adjust it to meet your specific needs. You may choose from specific modules that will help you polish critical “soft skills” required for leadership advancement. (See sample coaching program schedule)

How the coaching program will work

The process of working together will involve both face to face meetings, use of tele-coaching, email correspondence and other technology aided communication. Frequency of contact will be important to facilitate the coaching results you seek.

You will need to commit a minimum of six months of working together as part of the AdvanceME! executive coaching program (phase 1 & 2) . If you are motivated to continue the process, then you may move into the second six months period for Phase 2 executive coaching (phase 3 & 4)

Who will you be working with?

Choosing the right coach for the individual is an important step in getting the results you seek. Factors such as knowledge, skill, credentials, track record are important; as is chemistry between coach and “coachee.” Let me give you insight into why you’ll want to choose me, Kathy McAfee, as your executive coach.

My credentials and background are in many ways non-traditional. Marketing was my first successful career; coaching/training is my second career. As an innovator and change agent, I elected to study Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) rather than follow the crowds to “Coaching University.” As a result, I earned a Master Practitioner certification in NLP along with Time Line Therapy™, together a highly useful methodology for rapidly clearing negative emotions and limiting decisions, and installing more powerful resources and a positive mindset for leaders.

In a nutshell, NLP is the study of how to use of language of the mind to help you consistently achieve your specific and desired outcomes. I like to think of NLP as the study of how you run your brain. It is considered by many to be a cutting edge approach for helping people in business, in education and in sports realize their full potential. It combines cognitive and behavioral psychology principles and uses non-invasive techniques to produce rapid, positive and lasting changes. I have successfully used NLP techniques in my executive coaching practice, presentation training programs and in my own life and business to produce great outcomes for myself and others.

I am certified as a Blind Spots Profile executive coach under the teaching of executive coach and author, Claudia Shelton. The Blind Spots Profile methodology gives me additional tools and resources to aid in 360 evaluations as well as personal assessment and strategies for gaining clear sight. Similar but more simplified than the Myers Briggs instrument, Blind Spots Profiling helps individuals and teams to appreciate and leverage their differences for mutual advantage. With this greater self-awareness and understanding of your strengths and vulnerabilities, you can find better ways to stay in strength, rather than blind spots, especially during stressful situations.
