Networking how-to: think bigger

When networking with others, consider larger possibilities. Explore ideas that could create impact for others, not just for yourself. Discuss ways in which you might collaborate with each other and others to create more significant change and opportunity in the world.

Q: Who in your current active network could you connect right now to grow some networking magic?

Yes, you read that right. There is magic that can be cultivated when you bring people together through networking. It can generate new opportunities for yourself and others that you can’t even imagine. When those two people are motivated business professionals, then the potential for greater yield is magnified.

You’re the one who can make that happen by implementing this week’s networking tip:

Goal for this week:

Connect two people whom you know well, but don’t yet know each other and invite them to network together. Facilitate their introduction with a telephone or email introduction. You can do this through Linkedin™ as well. Be proactive, not passive, when you bring people together for networking.

You might consider joining them in the networking experience. Why not organize a conference call with them or a 3-way lunch or invite them to join you at an event. This way you can participate in this new networking connection. It might just bud into something wonderful – like a new mutually-beneficial relationship. Plant that magic seed of networking this week!
