What’s Your Preferred Channel of Communication?
The words you choose have an impact on the meaning that other people take away from your communication. In his famous research study, UCLA professor Dr. Albert Merhrabian discovered the 7%-38%-55% Rule of Communication.
The 55% represents the visual communication (all that they see during the communication); the 38% represents the verbal communication (all that they hear during the communication – the way you say the words); and 7% represents the impact of the specific words, language patterns and predicates that you use in the communication.

This free workbook has been created to help you fully leverage the 7% or the power of language and word choice. It is based upon Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Representational Systems. You can also think of it as people’s preferred communication channels.
What is Neuro Linguistic Programming, or NLP? In essence, NLP is the study of how you run your brain. It teaches you how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve our specific and desired outcomes. It help you learn how to think more effectively and communicate more effectively with yourself and others.
What are NLP Representational System? Representational systems or sensory modalities examine how our human mind processes information and interprets meaning. Just as we use both left and right hands even though we may be dominantly left handed or right handed, we use all of the various channels of communication. However, we each tend to favor one or two of the four main representational systems to filter information and interpret meaning. They are:
Visual (V), Kinesthetic (K), Auditory (A) or Auditory Digital (Ad)
